The Department of Justice (DOJ) is one of the top performing goverment agencies for 2023.
In a statement, the DOJ said it was recognized as one of the "Top Requested and Performing Agencies" during the the 2023 Freedom of Information (FOI) Awards held last Tuesday, Nov. 21, in Pasay City.
“The event, spearheaded by the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), acknowledged and paid tribute to individuals and government organizations under the Executive Branch for their exceptional implementation of the FOI Program,” it said.
“The recognition is given to National Government Agencies (NGAs) with a total of 500 to 999 requests with at least 90 percent closed transactions in the e-FOI portal,” it explained.
The DOJ award was received by Justice Assistant Secretary Randolph A. Pascasio.
The FOI program was created under Executive Order No. 2, series of 2016. It operationalizes in the Executive branch the response to the call for transparency and complete disclosure of information to the public.
